Meine erste Fashion Week in New York! Die Aufregung war groß, so groß, dass ich kaum schlafen konnte, denn meine ersten beiden Einladungen sollten schon recht früh beginnen und lagen zudem zeitlich dicht beieinander. Die erste Show im Rahmen der Mercedes Benz Fashion Week war für 9:30 Uhr angesetzt, die nächste um 10:00 Uhr. Klingt vielleicht nicht so wild, aber die Schauen waren an zwei verschiedenen Orten vorgesehen. Okay, mit einem Taxi würde ich es schaffen können. Dennoch, auch wenn ich meine Einladungen im Hotel bereits ausgedruckt hatte und mein Outfit für den ersten Tag der Fashion Week feststand, befürchtete ich doch, dass noch irgendetwas schiefgehen könnte.
Und so kam es auch. Gegenüber der New York Times, wo sonst immer gefühlte 1000 Taxis standen, war kein einziges zu sehen, stattdessen eine Schlange wartender Menschen. Alle vorbeifahrenden Taxis waren besetzt. Rush hour eben. Vielleicht war es etwas naiv zu glauben morgens spontan ein Taxi zu bekommen. Keine Chance, pünktlich anzukommen. Geschockt lief ich los und landete schließlich in einem Bus Richtung Lincoln Center. Ein  Hoch auf die New Yorker Busfahrer. Der Fahrer nahm mich ohne Fahrtticket mit, erklärte mir den Weg zum The Hudson, dem Hotel, in dem Cutecircuit die neue Frühjahrskollektion präsentieren sollte, und legte für mich einen Extrastopp ein, damit ich nicht die Show verpasse.

My first fashion week in New York City. I was so excited that I couldn’t sleep the night before the first day of MBFW NY SS15. Some of the shows where so close after each other that I didn’t have much time between them. I was scared that I could miss one of them or that something could go wrong.

My first show at the first day of the fashion week was at 9.30 am and the second one at 10 am. In the morning I went to the New York times building where I saw many taxis the days before … BUT NOT THIS MORNING. Instead of taxis there was a crowd of people standing in a line, waiting for a cab. Maybe it was greenly to think that I would get a taxi in the city early in the morning. At this moment I thought there is no chance to be in time for the Cuitcircuit show but then I found a bus which went into the  direction of the Lincoln Center where the Fashion Week takes place. The next problem: I had no bus ticket BUT the bus driver was so nice and told me to come in. He made an extra stop for me so that I didn’t miss the show.
